in Costa Rica Surfing

Surfing Playa Negra, Costa Rica is something that you must do if you are in the northern Pacific area of Costa Rica. The surf at Playa Negra is a reef break that makes for one of the nicest waves in the area.

Playa Negra is located just south of Playa Avellana and a short drive from Tamarindo. There is no direct public transportation there so your two choices are either renting a car or hiring a surf guide to take you there.

If the waves are good, you can expect a decent crowd out surfing Playa Negra, Costa Rica. But I wouldn’t let that deter you from going down there and surfing Playa Negra. If you’re looking to get down there, contact me and I’ll help you find a good deal with surf guide out of where you are staying.

Time for Some Film of Surfing Playa Negra

Here’s a video filmed by Cafe Playa Negra. It’s at low tide and there were tons of barrels to be had this day.

Another video of surfing Playa Negra. The wave is just beautiful and consistent.
