Hey guys, I’m going to start documenting my stay here in Costa Rica and what’s going on… Today was mostly a setup day. What I mean by that was I went and researched getting a bicicleta (bicycle) and learned some spanish thanks to Rosetta Stone and a local tica..
As far as bicycles, it was about what was expected price wise and such. Found a brand new beach cruiser bike with a few gears for $180, slightly used one for $170, slightly used with no gears for $160 or wait till Thursday for a very small possibility of a very used bicycle for $120 with no gears. Which one should I go with? Gears actually could be handy here. Think I’ll probably go get the new one because it’s black and I like black more than blue.
Learning spanish is coming along as well… I’m still not at the point of speaking it, but I’m learning important pronunciations and some vocabulary now. It’s really hard picking up some of these words and how to say them. Spent 10 minutes on the periodico because I just can’t pronounce it right.
Besides that, I’m looking forward to the second lesson of teaching a German chick to surf. She stood up a few times during the first lesson, but we’re going to crush it this one!
